In addition to having a rich and colorful past, Montoursville plays an important part in the future development of central Pennsylvania. Being the site of the Williamsport Regional Airport, Montoursville is key to the expansion of industry in Lycoming County.
 
Situated at the point where Loyalsock Creek meets the Susquehanna River,  Montoursville's 4,800 residents enjoy a convenient central location within just a few minutes drive of Williamsport's bustling downtown to the west and excellent shopping at Muncy's Lycoming Mall to the east.
 
Indian Park, one of the largest and oldest parks in Lycoming County, is located in Montoursville. In the 1800's the area was home to a small amusement park and was a popular destination for residents of Williamsport who would board a trolley in downtown Williamsport and spend the day enjoying the theater, merry-go-round and riding one of the largest and longest roller coasters on the east coast. Today the serene park is the home of the Montoursville public pool and hosts many summer events including car shows and festivals as well as many private gatherings.
