Additional Information

Named for its founders who relocated to the area from New Jersey in the late 1700's, Jersey Shore is located in western Lycoming County at the point where Pine Creek meets the Susquehanna River, just 15 miles west of Williamsport. In the early 1900's Jersey Shore played a major role in the railroad industry by being the site of a large railroad car manufacturing company and to this day area businesses are still producing steel rails for use by the railroads.

A town of 4,500 residents, Jersey Shore is an extremely popular recreation area for many county residents. Nearby Pine Creek is renowned for its natural beauty and outdoor hiking trails as well as hunting and fishing activities.
